Who knows where these two authors -- Janice Monti-Belkaoui and Ahmed Riahi-Belkaoui -- came from. Prior to this book we'd never heard of them. That said, it's a pretty good book. In fact, probably the most recent political risk book, aside from edited volumes.

It's got some odd tangents and omissions, but basically, this book reviews the current political risk literature -- on definitions, assessment, and management of political risk. For a good overview of the academic side of political risk, this book is recommended. Some of the tangents are quite strange -- e.g., apropos of nothing, one chapter presents an economic growth model -- but make interesting reading.
